There are four types of germs:
- Bacteria- strep throat, meningitis, urinary tract infections
- Viruses- flu, covid, colds
- Fungi- ringworm, athlete’s foot, yeast infection
- Parasites- pinworms, giardia, malaria
Ward off Germs and Infections
- cover your cough and sneezes
- avoid touching your face
- stay home if you’re sick
- disinfect surfaces that are touched often
- wash hands often
- take vitamins to boost immunity (vitamin C, vitamin D, Zinc, elderberry, probiotics)
- Stay up-to-date on vaccines
Prevent Disease
- make healthy food choices
- get your cholesterol checked
- monitor blood pressure
- exercise
- get enough sleep
- maintain a healthy weight
- don’t smoke or vape
- drink water
