Important Dates

  • There is a special called board meeting on Friday, September 12, at 2pm in the elementary school boardroom.
  • We are excited to inform you that we are having filtered water dispensers installed in both buildings.  This will give all students and staff a clean and cold water option.  Please support this effort by sending water bottles that students may keep at school.
  • We would like to thank the many volunteers who helped with parking at the Fair this past week.  On short notice, ARS was able to recruit enough volunteers to get the job done and to earn some money for the school!
  • ARS and RAP are excited to celebrate International Literacy Day on Monday, September 8. Mayor Costi Kutteh will visit our students to read aloud from one of his favorite books. Join us at 6:30 that evening for RAP night, including refreshments and to tour our newly completed Renaissance Center and Loaner Library! On Wednesday, our very own Beverly Rufty will read aloud to our students. Our teachers have additional activities planned to celebrate in classrooms. It will be an exciting week!
  • We would like to thank Beverly Rufty, Tonya Fowler, Kelly Peck, and Jayne Cline for the hours they have spent volunteering in our Renaissance Center, getting that space organized and ready for the children. Their hard work will be enjoyed by ARS students for many years to come!
  • The Fall Girls on the Run Season is now open for registration. For more information and to register, please visit www.gotriredell.org.
  • The annual Back to School 5k is coming up. This has been a great fundraiser for our school, year after year. Be sure and register soon and remember to pick ARS as your school. Half of your fee comes back directly to the school. The top 3 schools with the most participation split the other half! We have placed each year and would love to keep that going! Visit www.backtoschool5k.com for more information!
  • The annual 3b Festival is coming up in less than three weeks.  Your child should have brought home tickets.  It's important that we all support this effort by selling and buying tickets as this is our only fund-raiser thus for this school year!
  • The First Tee class will take place tomorrow from 4:30 to 6:00 at Statesville Country Club.  Transportation will be provided for students who need it.  You may transport your own child for drop-off and/or pick-up as well.
