At the all staff meeting on Wednesday, May 10, our 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Rob Orrill, announced our Teacher Assistant of the Year and Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018. Thanks to him for his presentation skills and for being an incredible role model and example for other teachers.
Our 2017-2018 Teacher Assistant of the Year is Mrs. Sandy Gross! Sandy is someone with a service minded heart. Her colleagues nominated her because she does a lot of things without being asked. She goes above and beyond, she is flexible, and she does so many things without a single complaint. The thought that was most consistent among all her peers is that she loves working directly with the children. She is all we could ask for and more!
Our 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Sarah Rogers! Our TOY has been described by current and former students as calm, helpful, patient, gifted, AMAZING to be around, fun, and creative, and there are unconfirmed reports that she has good dance moves. Her colleagues describe her as someone who knows her curriculum inside out and upside down. She can manage a classroom with just a simple look to her students. She can remember the names of 300+ kids every year and the ones who have moved on. She consistently stays after hours to provide further instruction to students who want to learn more. Mrs. Rogers has been here as far back as our eighth graders can remember. She takes on extra school duties in May when most of us are just counting the hours.
We couldn't be more honored to recognize these amazing educators as Teacher Assistant and Teacher of the Year. Congratulations!
